What is HORTA?
Horta is a newly opened Spanish restaurant in Amsterdam, serving the cuisines of Valencia and Catalonia in a modern, casual setting. The restaurant is the latest venture from Raul Lansink, founder of NAZKA — one of Amsterdam's most respected fine dining destinations.

Web design
We introduced a clean, minimal layout and refined typography
to bring Horta's brand to life online. The design balances contemporary aesthetics with functional clarity, keeping the focus on what guests actually need — browsing the menu and booking a table, without friction.

The challenge
Horta was in the middle of a brand transition when the project was in its final stages. Rather than rebuilding from scratch, we integrated the updated brand elements by introducing the new colors as overlays, keeping the design coherent without losing momentum.

Typeface
For this project we opted for a typographic pairing that sets the tone from the first scroll. Flatory Serif carries the personality —
a typeface with enough warmth and character to feel inviting without losing its composure. Lato steps in for everything functional, keeping menus, buttons, and body text clean and effortlessly readable. Together, they give Horta a voice that feels both considered and approachable, the same balance the restaurant strikes in person.

Color palette
The palette is bold and deliberate. Amber and burnt orange bring the warmth and energy of Spanish sun, while deep cobalt grounds the design with a sense of confidence and contrast. White keeps the typography clean and readable across every surface. The three accent colors work primarily as overlays, adding depth and visual character without competing with the content they frame.
