What is Oylo?
Oylo by The Weather is a real-time AI video transformation tool, designed to let creators instantly reshape visual content through live, intelligent effects.
Oylo began as an experiment — a challenge to see if we could strip away the "wait" from generative AI to use it for a live performance. It quickly evolved into our first standalone AI product: real-time AI video transformation for stages, spaces and anything live.

Branding
We built the Oylo interface to get out of its own way. It’s a high-contrast, dark-mode cockpit — designed for dark studios and live stages where functional clarity is the only thing that matters. We stripped away the clutter so that when the AI starts shifting, the UI stays grounded. It feels like a premium instrument: precise, responsive, and ready for a live set.
But every instrument needs a soul. To balance the "pro-gear" aesthetic, we gave Oylo a shapeshifting animated logo. It’s a nod to the tool’s origin as a restless internal experiment — a visual reminder that while the tech is serious, the spirit behind it is pure, un-rendered curiosity.

The idea
Oylo didn’t start with a business plan; it started as a "what if" about two years ago. The goal was simple: Could AI actually be fun at a party?
The original experiment was a live wall—a "magical contraption" that could listen to a room and project imagery that shifted with the conversation. It only worked partially at first, but it was enough to realize we’d accidentally tapped into a visual cross-dimensional wormhole.

Product development
Playing vs. Processing: We found a way to repaint the real world so freely that every frame felt like a glimpse into a parallel universe — one that shares our light but obeys entirely different laws of reality.
To get there, we had to kill the "submit-and-wait" culture of traditional AI. We pivoted from "generating" to performing.
The Goal: A high-performance, low-ego tool that favors the act of play over the final export.
The Tech: A live conversation with a camera, transforming video instantly without the "render" lag.
The Result: An instrument for anyone — from stage pros to the just plain curious — ready to experiment outside the lines.

Use cases
Oylo is a high-performance instrument built for the moment. By prioritizing the act of play over the final export, it turns a complex computational process into a direct, real-time conversation between the creator and the camera.
Live Performance: For VJs and club artists who need visuals that move at the speed of the music — no pre-renders, just pure improvisation.
Immersive Installations: For reactive spaces that breathe and shift with the room, turning physical environments into living, digital canvases.
Content Creators: For anyone in a flow state, allowing for instant iteration and spontaneous discovery without the lag of a progress bar.
